We got half the carpet pulled up in my studio on Mon nite. It was a lot of work. Had to move all the furniture over to one side, cut the carpet and pad, and then rip into pieces and put in garbage bags. Whoever installed it went a little nail and glue crazy. We will have to use a scraper and some Goof Off to get the remaining sticky stuff off the cement. Will also have to cut off the top of the nails that are sticking up around the periphery of the room. If we try and pull them up, they bring up big chunks of the floor. If we try and pound them down, the cement cracks.
The area of the house I am claiming as my studio and office is actually the formal living and dining room. Together, they form a large L shape off the front entry. To somewhat separate the two spaces and leave my studio open, I created a room divider with canvas carts. I can access it from either side. It keeps both rooms from feeling too claustrophobic.
My office is in transition at the moment. Both my “desks” are something that were hand made. One is just a verithaned board attached to two file cabinets that I painted white and the other is a cannibalized computer desk that got a new top too. My intent was to form a functional U workstation. I hope to have it less “make -shift” soon. And those blah beige walls HAVE to go.
So things are coming along slowly but surely. It’s not looking good for getting the wall at this time. Just more than we can afford at the moment. I’ll have to make do using acrylics and water colors and pastels. Now that the carpet is gone( it acts as a large sponge) I don’t have to worry about spills and clean up. A shop vac does the trick!

Kung Fu Panda
Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting
We saw the animated film Kung Fu Panda on Fri nite and it was great. The cinematography was excellent, the story was sweet and well written and the animation was superb. Add to that the voice talents of Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black(among others) and the great fight scenes and you got a winner. I highly recommend seeing this on the big screen. It ranks up there with Toy Story and Babe. It's also hilarious and you'll LYAO. I mean Jack Black as a Panda c'mon, ya gotta love it.
Also looking forward to seeing Wall-E. I have old Art School classmates working for Pixar and it's fun to see their names in the c

My Fairy Realm Is Now Complete
First off I wanna say I hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day. Shout Outs to Bowery Dweller and Whimsical Desire Happy Mother's Day ladies!
Sorry I've been gone so long... I've been very busy and preoccupied with the house. So many projects going on...once they are completed, I have a feeling I will start uploading a boatload of art, so be prepared for a deluge. LOL I'll try and catch up with deviations, I promise. I do look at ppl's works,it just seems whenever I'm on dA, they are in "read only" mode for maintenance. Grrr. Late at night is usually when I peruse galleries so It's very annoying.
We had the outside of the house painted a fe
Delays and Disappointments
I got my new Minimac and am learning my way around it some. Haven't had much time to play with it, still trying to get all my files transferred over and also load the software I already have that is Mac compatible. Luckily, Painter and Poser came with software for either platform. Macromedia Studio and CS2 were student versions so must remain on my Dell until I can replace with with the full versions. We did invest in CS3 for the Mac however. Between it and Painter, I'm sure I'll have a ball.
Unfortunately it's not looking so good for getting my studio sich resolved. To have the wall built and pocket doors installed is just not in the budget

Wow if I had a studio that Awesome I would be in seventh heaven... heehee.
I guess I am stuck with my little old drafting table in the corner of a room until I can get the rest of the house fixed up, but still my studio will not compare to yours... heehee.
I do love my Anime room though... I had a problem with the contractors the day they were in there. They got a little curd with what they were talking about... Will tell you about via IM when we get the chance to chat again... Do not want anyone thinking I am the one being crud...
Well see ya later...
