Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting

We saw the animated film Kung Fu Panda on Fri nite and it was great. The cinematography was excellent, the story was sweet and well written and the animation was superb. Add to that the voice talents of Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black(among others) and the great fight scenes and you got a winner. I highly recommend seeing this on the big screen. It ranks up there with Toy Story and Babe. It’s also hilarious and you’ll LYAO. I mean Jack Black as a Panda –c’mon, ya gotta love it.

Also looking forward to seeing Wall-E. I have old Art School classmates working for Pixar and it’s fun to see their names in the credits. Why is it that good storytelling, character development, and likable characters only exist in kids movies? And nope, not embarrassed to go to a Disney or Pixar film at the theatre. I enjoy them, and I don’t care what anyone thinks about it. We just go to a late nite showing to avoid all the crying/whining children. Some of these films need to be watched on a big screen for full enjoyment and appreciation.

In Other News

Should be getting my new PC end of this week. Can't wait. I've been chomping at the bit to finish the first in my Dark Fairies series. I uploaded my Wildwood Fairie into scraps if anyone is interested. Plz keep in mind it is in a very rough state right now and a WIP. I'm having to learn the software as I go and Painter X has a very steep learning curve. Once I get a computer that can actually run the software without freezing or crashing, I think I will improve rapidly and certainly be able to work faster. I've also learned recently that here at dA there are ppl who post stock photos that digital artists may use free of charge (as long as they abide by the poster's user guidelines.) *suh-weet* I've added a few of these Deviant stock accts to my Watch List and hope to make full use of the resource in the future. I don't have access to live models currently and it will be ever so helpful to me to know ppl here on dA who can pose for me and provide ref material. *awesome* I am looking forward to contacting a few ppl soon and becoming more active here.

In the meantime, just waiting for my new computer. We decided to go with a Gateway that has a Core 2 Quad Processor and 6 GBs memory and a 640 GB hard drive. That should run Painter X and CS3 just fine. LOL

I crashed two computers in three weeks so *fingers crossed* this is "The One".

Hi Edge,

Yeah it's been a while. I'm not on myO anymore, I deleted my acct there. I never check MySpace anymore either. I'm on Facebook and not really blogging much anymore but I do have a blog on Blogger. The link is posted in my dA profile. Once I start making some art, I will be here on dA more often.

Looks like you and Misty are going strong. ^_^
Nice to hear from ya, take care
